I enjoy the interpretation most. In orhter words, I enjy creating the "discussion" part of a manuscript, in which we develop the "what does it mean" content, and explain the implications of the findings. How can we make use of these results?

What drives a researcher through various stages comprising the research process is his/her personal interest and his/her desire to be part the research streamline. I believe that these stages are different but complementary. Therefore, deep and motivated engagement in all stages may result in a work with a high quality.

For me, the answer to your question changed along the years. When a young scholar, I would think of a research topic, conduct the experiment and move on. Writing the findings was not exciting. In the present, I like both putting together the ideas and creativity into the proposed research but can as well find the pleasure in the writing process and in the ability to modify my teaching along the way and provide a better response to the needs of the students who are trained to be teachers.

For me, data collection and data interpretation are the most enjoyable stages of research, simply because I get the chance to find out the underlying perceptions of people coming from diverse linguistic, social and cultural backgrounds. It becomes even more interesting when the data are gathered through various methods of data collection, especially in-depth interviews, narration, etc. Due to my personal passion for writing, I also love the "writing up" stage.

I'm not really that into quantitative data analysis techniques, so this is perhaps the least enjoyable stage.
