As far as we know, TEAM and OSCAR tools are introduced for teamwork assessment in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, what other tools do you know for teamwork assessment in resuscitation?
In nursing there is a trauma course TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) which teaches the mnemonic ABCDEFGHI to easily remember a trauma/resuscitation assessment to be done the same way each and every time. Each letter stands for a different section - A - airway, alertness, B - Breathing & ventilation, C - Circulation & control of any hemorrhaging, D - Disability (Neurologic Status), E - Expose & Environmental control, F - Full set of vitals, G - get resuscitation adjuncts (LMNOP Labs, Monitoring cardiac rhythm, Naso/orogastric tube, Oxygenation, Pain assessment), H - history & head to toe assessment, I - inspect posterior surfaces.
It is a simple way to remember steps so that the resuscitation (whether it be trauma or spontaneous) is completed the same way each and every time.
Thank you very much for your proper reference. The key principles of CRM (Rall and Gaba, 2005) are1- Knowing the environment 2- Anticipating and planning 3- Using all available resources 4- Preventing or managing fixation errors 5- Using cognitive aids 6- Exercising leadership and followership 7- Using all available information 8- Communicate effectively 9- Cross-checks 10- Assertiveness 11- Calling for help early 12- Distributing the workload 13- Re-evaluating repeatedly 14- Using good teamwork 15- Setting priorities dynamically. These principles can facilitate teamwork in most of the situations, However, the best scoring system or toll for assessing teamwork in the CPR setting is unclear. how you can measure the leadership in these situations?, How do you compare two real CPR or CPR in a simulated environment in terms of non-technical skills?
An exact measurement-protocol is not known, I think. In practice, I check whether these points were performed in the scenario. But if they did or not I decide for myself actually - therefore in this point a little bit "semi-valid" :-/
