My intended research is titled: "Modern Methods of Construction: The potentials and challenges of using prefabrication technology for building modern houses in Afghanistan."
This study is both for my "Master Thesis" and I am also very keen to publish at least one Journal paper based on the outcomes of my research and progress in this regard.
Dear Latif, much will depend on your aim and objectives. If you want to paint a picture of the state of things, or identify issues that are largely unknown, you often for example have words like "explore", "identify", "what" in your research questions and your objectives, you will need to use descriptive-qualitative methods.
On the other hand if you want to establish relationships and the impacts of widely known variables and you want to develop measures for them, you will likely have to use analytical quantitative methods.

I would say the quantitative method analysis, where the potentials and challenges could be identified and ranked based on the topic of your research. This substantially gives contribution to the knowledge and to the industry as well through your research.

It would be best first to decide on what type of data you will collect for your research. You may either focus on qualitative or quantitative data based on your research objectives. If you are keen on collecting qualitative data, then you need to approach your research based on a descriptive/qualitative approach or if you will collect statistical data such as data acquired through questionnaires or based on some well known scales, this will potentially lead you to advance your methodology in the light of analytical/quantitative side. Thank you so much Dr. Sunitha V. Doraisamy and Dr. Sevilay Demirkesen Çakır for providing more specific suggestions. I just wanted to see which method I can opt based on the ideas and objectives I had in my mind. I think analytical/quantitative method is what will best suit my this research. I am currently working on the questionnaire based on my research objectives and the literature review information.
