Hello Director Jimela Dora Kialo, as you describe, you can organize distance, online learning in different modalities: asychronous (e.g. videos, assignments in LMS), synchronous (e.g. meetings in Zoom) or blended, combining the previous two options. We have found blended e-learning and flipped learning to be effective for high quality distance education. My personal favorite are social VR platforms or 3D immersive virtual worlds that can facilitate a profound engagement of students through active learning towards in-depth, meaningful learning. This is exactly what we do in my context too. Psychology has it that students do not learn just by listening to a lecture. They actually learn by audiovisual graphic representation, besides lectures. That is reading, writing, listening and seeing. That means a number of software tools have to be integrated as Add Ons by the network architectures or software Engineers to build a virtual classroom using certain LMSs.

For communication and live sessions , we use Ms Teams. Canvas is the online platform for the content.

Synchronous: Google Meet/Zoom plus Quizlet live

Asynchronous: Google Classroon + Quizlet.

They all work well for me and are user friendly.

We use Moodle/LMS. We find that it is easy-to-use and to integrate with other open source resources. You simply add a plug-in if it is available to design your platform to suit your needs. For synchronous online or virtual classes Moodle has a tool called a Big Blue Button but due to some of its limitations we prefer to use Microsoft Teams. I find MS Teams very easy to use and is accessible to all staff and students since we are already subscribed to MS 365. My take is that when you decide about online tools it is always key to check (1) ease of use, (2) accessibility, (3) efficiency, (4) integration with other tools and ofcourse cost/affordability, that is, if you consider cost important - return on investment (ROI).

Nowadays I deliver training for EurekaWorld 3d environment. I teach teachers to involve their students in building projects combining imagination and real data. It concerns especially the learning of history and museum building by the pupils. It also has to do with creative writings of, for example, letters to soldiers in war and/or other historical stories. I encourage my students to use every technology they are familiar with, to incorporate it into the projects.

I also use MS Teams but its just for my personal use. The official platform for online teaching aspect is actually GC platform.

We use Zoom for the communication and live sessions. As online platform for content, we use Canvas or Sakai.

We use a platform created by the technology group of the university especially for asynchronous classes. But for synchronous classes, we use zoom or google meet.

Zoom, jitsu and Google meet are ok.

In the university we use Webex, by CISCO, and moodle for asynchronous classes.

In my pos-doctor we use Google meet or Zoom.

I am teaching Beginner Japanese language and located in the U.S., South Mississippi (Gulf Coast). Recently, I began to utilize SmartClass by Robotel, Inc.. It is a company located in Canada. The tool can be used for both asynchronous and synchronous learning and teaching environments. It is a platform that allows students access to 19 different types of activities and tasks. For example, word jumble, sentence jumble, letter jumble, segmented recording, open recording, multiple choice, AI speech recognition, etc. I use this resource for summer language workshops, and students like the autonomy to work through tasks online; many of the activities are auto-graded.

In both the organisations that I work in, we use Zoom and Moodle.

We use (Zoom, Moodle ) for learning, (Zoom, google meet) for meetings, and (Zoom, google meet, Webex, Microsoft team) for seminars and conferences.

My question is not answered yet. I see many respondents are talking about different applications such as zoom etc that make up the GAFE tools. GAFE is an abbreviation of Google Apps for Education.
