I do not think the civil engineer has qualities that distinguish him from the rest of the engineers or other professions. Are the qualities possessed by the civil engineer absent from the other engineers?

You know so well, the civil engineer always represent a leader in the construction site, .. all resident engineer office must lead by civil engineer, ... all service ministries must lead by civil, ... all execution project (specially Big Project) must lead by civil engineer...

Actually I'm talking her about the leader.. so the question will be "

What kind of person makes a good Civil Engineer?"

I do not think so, because there is a narrow view of the subject. There are mechanical and electrical projects in most of them, civil works constitute only 10% or less of the project, in which case, who is the project engineer (leader !!!).

In general, ... all constructional project start with Civil engineer.. either in Site leveling, site preparation,.. mobilization,.. foundation, .. structures construction, .. site services from sewage and rain water networks, .. drinking water networks, .. road pavement and walkway,... etc...

Even if the civil engineer has 10% to do in the project... He will lead the others... He is the executor....

First: All projects in Iraq start with Contract between the owner and the client, ... the most important term in that contract is " The contract follow the General Terms for Civil Engineering Contracting in its first and second Parts prepared by the Iraqi Ministry of Planning" after that... the contract mention to the Mechanical and Electrical Specifications...

Second: You can check the United Iraqi building Code.. Most part of it is from Civil Engineer Job... He create to be a leader...

Unfortunately, up to write these words did not understand what I wrote,

There are almost entirely projects that are limited to mechanical or electrical works, and there are no civil works only works of flooring or secondary civil details,

In this case, the project manager shall be a mechanical or electrical engineer by type of work (and a civil engineer shall work with him to carry out the simple civil works), see the projects of the Ministry of Electricity and see who the supervisor is, we do not talk about specifications or codes.

My subject is the Civil engineer… I understand what you wrote, don’t worry… But you must get the goal of the question.. (simply).. you can check the percent of construction projects that civil engineer will lead, with respect to other …. I know so well that specialist projects need to lead by specialist.. but I'm her talking in general…

Herein in these two charts, a study shows in simply way, which projects get the majority, .. and you can answer whom will lead there…

After all of that experience came from all of these construction projects, … a leader will create.. to lead other non-constructional projects… the leader need to have the ability to lead (Analysis, Check, Control, Make dissection, Guide the other, ….) and have enough experience.. So the experience is a factor form many…
