Paddy rice appropriate for rice plant is 800~1000 μmol m-2 s-1 (Makino et. al 1994), if we re going to use artificial light (by lamp), what kind of lamp we should use? and what is the unit?
does anybody have any literature i can refer about it?

Dear Muhamad, Since mol is the unit for amount of substance, it has no relation to light. Good spectra for rice photosynthetic action is given in attached paper, while another site tells blue spectra are good for germination and red spectra for blooming. Regards, Shigeo
Muhamad, I was wrong. Correction: PPFD (photosynthetic photon flux) is the unit to express number of photon effective in photosynthetic action in the wavelength range from 400nm to 700nm per square meter per second. Regards, Shigeo
