There are few people who is of the opinion that using presentation slides will not help much in teaching or any other deliberations. But others find it a boon. What you think of using it?
I think the careful and professional use of either is perfectly acceptable, especially if you take all precautions not to engage in "death by PowePoint." Best wishes and good luck!
PowerPoint type presentations are a useful aid in lecturing,but only for prompting the lecturer who should have all the knowledge and understanding of the subject committed to memory. Death by PowerPoint is a long and drawn out painful death.
As long as they contain points and not long, drawn-out prose, they are fine. And they are good for including images, links, symbols, graphics, speech bubbles, etc..I have seen really good ones where only pictures were used as stunning images which prompt discussion, comment, critique, etc,,
I use them, but always carry a board marker and scribble things on the whiteboard or flip-chart.
