Can anyone tell me what is the type of pharmaceutical book called in French 'Pharmacopée raisonnée' and in English 'Rational pharmacopoeia'? An example of such was

Pharmacopée raisonnée, ou Traité de pharmacie pratique et théorique by Henry & Guibourt from 1834.

I do not know French. I'd like only to know the general purpose of such works. It seems that this was not a regulating/normative publication but a kind of treatise or a comment to an official pharmacopoeia. Does it contain also any elements of practical therapy or examples of clinical cases for physicians?
