There is a tremendous variation in the infecitivity of phages within species. When a spot test with phages are performed i can encounter six different lysis pattern namely A. Complete lysis, B. Turbid lysis, C. No Lysis, D. Lysis with white colony, E. Lysis with minute bacterial colonies, F. Lysis with individual plaques. Can someone explain this phenomenon with paper reference. I have attached the image for each of this .
