You will see that flavones with a higher degree of methylation are less polar and use silica with hexane/ethyl acetate. Hi Dr Ayoub Najem . I think it is preferred to start from nonpolar-polar solvent with the combine of them. th general solvent usually used are hexane, ethyl acetate, chlroform, dicholoromethane and methanol.
