what kind of boat for deposition of Galium by thermal evaporation is suitable? I use W one until now, but I read that Ga make alloys by W in lesker site and I should use Qurtz or Al2O3 crucible. I deposit Ga for CIGS solar cell. Is it really make a problem and do I have to replace it?
The thermal evaporation boats are normally made from high melting metals such as tungsten and molybdenum with tungsten has higher melting temperature than molybdenum. If some micro alloying with gallium occurs you can polish the boat after running evaporation. Using crucible may lead to contamination of the evaporated metal from the crucible.
Thanks for your answer. There is a point here that Ga is liquid in room temperature and polishing can not be applied. I want to know, if is it a point for cell production or not? Does it deteriorate the cell efficiency or not?
