Thanks for this question as well. There is no protonated for of LEB (Leucoemeraldine base) nor of PNB (pernigraniline base), in both cases, when you reach these oxidation states originally coming from ES (your TANI-ES), the acid will be somewhere and eventually diffuse into the surrounding liquid.

What I think is Dithiothreitol. As it is water-soluble and does not form a precipitate. But, the thing is it contains sulphur which is quite hazardous to aquatic animals.
