If you have the inventories of each process involved (from databases) you can easily calculate the total emissions just using Excel. If you prefer a software that allow to perform all the calculations there are some specifics for buildings.

Could you help me about SimaPro Program?

I need the SimaPro to calculate CO2 emissions form Life Cycle Assessment of Residential Building.

LCA has 5 stages:

1- Raw Material Extraction and transformation it to Factories whcih manufacturing the construction material.

2- Transformation the construction material to the building site.

3- Construction the building.

4- Operation and Maintenance.

5- Demotion and End of building life.

Finally the recycle building.

These stages called Cradle to Grave.

The simapro can help me to calculate CO2 emissions form these stage, furthermore it can let me adding the Egyptian data about the materials type, Energy Fuel and building construction type.

Could you send me any Excel sheet that you mean about calculation CO2 from LCA?

Hello Ahmed, yes you can use Excel sheet but this is not optimum. I will advice you to use GaBi or SimaPro. by using Excel sheet, you can not model your project. these softwares will provide more impact categories and you will be able to compare scenarios.

In addition, the modelling of your project will be easy since the databases of theses softwares have more parameters and values may be you can get them from your own experiments or surveys.
