Hi all, I have been trying to model traffic movements at unsignalized intersections using priority rules in VISSIM. I was wondering if someone could exactly tell me the physical significance of "Min Headway" parameter. Does it represent the limits of conflict area? Also, is there any way to connect "Critical Gap" with "Min Headway" and "Min Gap Time"?

Headway.
In VISSIM, headway is embedded in the car-following logic model. Adjusting this
parameter affects the entire model, not just the intersection. An alternative, more localized, method of influencing headway is to code a priority rule within say a roundabout just beyond the entry lane. This physical marker sets a reference point, and an approaching vehicle will not enter the roundabout until a circulating vehicle is past the marker with a headway distance that can be adjusted by the user.
Gap Acceptance
Within VISSIM, gaps are also placed by the user as priority rules. The location of these markers determines the point from which the acceptable gaps are reckoned, and the gap values themselves are user-adjustable.
