Majority of data are available in animal model in mice. These data showed that pravastatin may be effective in treatment and prevention of pre-eclampsia. Mechanism of action may be related to nitric oxide and VGEF.. Few case report in human is available with pravastatin with good result. Surprisingly very few adverse effect seen in mother and foetus with pravastatin. One phage 1trial is going on human with pravastatin in this regard... Thanks...

is Pravastatin safe during pregnancy in human?

Dear Dr Ayman, Statin are generally contraindicated in pregnancy. But in pravastatin for prevention of pre-eclampsia in high risk patients trial.. A phase 1trial had shown,  it has safe pharmakokinetic profile with no serious adverse effect of mother and foetus... Thanks..
