What is the relative effect of using the ESP Blog in comparison with regular legal English writing instruction in improving the writing achievement of ESP learners of EFL?
I'm not sure if I clearly understood your question, but I'll try to answer it somehow: As far as I see it, legal English writing is a sub-genre of ESP (English for Specific Purpose), with its specific syntax and lexical. Therefore, if the goal is to improve students' legal English writing, they should be offered resources to practice it in the right context. Perhaps the instructor can create a blog with topics within law studies and issues so that students can contribute to it, and as an outcome to improve their legal writing skills.
hi. ESP blog writing is more naturalistic and purposeful; a kind of content based language instruction. it can work efficiently because it focuses on target language use not just the pedagogic purpose of language learning and teaching. for regular writing instruction, they cannot see the spontaneous results of language learning but they can negotiate meanings for ESP blogs. best
