What is the relationship between big data and things on the Internet?

Which brings me to the point of this post: What is the relationship between big data and the Internet of Things (IoT)? Are they related and/or are they two sides of the same coin? Let’s examine further.

This is arguable issue, for me IOT (which means aggregating and compressing large amounts of data coming from a wide variety of sensors to support real-time use cases) is a generator of Big Data. While the Big Data is large amounts of human and machine generated data in terms of (volume, velocity, variety) in order to analyze and find patterns and new insights.
