Can anyone give a general concept about the relationship between impedance and state of charge (SOC) in lithium ion cell.
I am working on Li4Ti5O12 with materials from two different companies. For material from company "A" the impedance of the cell increases with SOC while for material from company "B" the impedance doesn't change.
Can anyone explain this behavior with some reasoning?

Could there be an influence because of the size of the particles in the two materials?

Thank you Thomas, let me go through these papers, I hope I can get some thing out of them.
As you know the battery mechanism is very complex and many factors are involved in its performance, so particle size can also affect it but need reference or have to performance some experiment to confirm it in my case.

give us some (unclassified documents or experimental) data-figures for "A" and "B". The impedance is one of the "mapping" information (alike to X-rays) of your batteries. However we need some drawings or frames in order to say something useful about your technical question.

Actually the experiment wasn't conducted by me personally, some of our customers gave me these comments, but unfortunately I am also waiting for the data from them :)

yes, there is a strong "corRelation between Impedance & State of Charge (SOC)" in Lithium ion Batteries.
However, this corRelation is not only specific for each battery type and size, but it may be very different between charge vs discharge semicycle (LiFePO4-Li cells) !!! Also, there is a useful eis-SOC correlation (LiFePO4-Li cells) with cycling number N for a specific battery package size-form : eis(SOC; N).
