In a bounding Nd:Ce:YAG/Cr:YAG rod, two different profiles were recorded on the sensitive photographic paper. one of these profiles has a high divergence while by rotating the rod around the Y-axis, the profile changes completely.
It should be noted that there is no mechanical pressure on the rod.
A sample of the recorded profile is attached.
If the rod was rotated in an oscillator, perhaps the beam mode would be changed.

Why do you think laser modes change when the rod is rotated?
Do you have a solution to this problem?
I think the problem roots in the non-ideal coincidence between the rod and resonator axes. Therefore, if the beam pattern can be reset to its pre-rotated state by adjusting the resonator mirrors, my guess is correct.

The mirrors are coated on the surface of the rod and therefore it is not possible to adjust the mirrors. Only the rod can be rotated on the y axis shown in the image.
OK, I think you should be suspicious of mechanical tensions which may be applied on the laser rod through its rotating mounts during rotation.

The location of the rod is such that the two ends of the rod are placed inside a U-shaped place. Because the rod easily moves back and forth along the Y-axis and also rotates easily around the Y-axis. In this case, the rod does not appear to be under any mechanical stress.
