Phd study, if done properly, helps others to learn from it. Each reference and each finding is discussed in it, and it is with the process as to how the findings were collected. The report of research is an authentic and reliable documents.; everyone relies on it All other information we get on google or through other sources is based on research. If we apply common sense, we will come to know that we rely more on those findings which are research based. Even medicines that we use come through different researches and experiments. This is misfortune that most of the students in these days prefer doing research for job and CV purpose but in real, the purpose of Phd is not this. It is beyond!

Motivation for studying for PhD will vary for each individual. For some, it may be a personal challenge (it was for me), as well as, of course, the opportunity to study a topic of importance for you in real depth, leading to an original contribution to knowledge. For some, it may just be the passport needed to proceed to an academic career. For some, it is just the pure joy of learning. I have supervised many students over the year, and I would say each one got something different from the experience. You will learn more about yourself from this process than from just about any other in your entire life.

Generally, you will learn:

3. how to meet deadlines and manage the time effectively

Hello Jennifer, for me it was important in sense of improve my analysis, synthesis, research and self-learning skills. I believe these are important skills for the future.

To me, a PhD is not just a diploma but a researcher education. Through their PhD education, candidates develop deep knowledge and research expertise by working at the research frontier of their field. In addition, they develop other skills including analysis, communication, project management etc. We have witnessed a change, at least in my country, from a PhD education for academia to a PhD education also for the private and public sector.

I think it makes sense that companies do not consider diplomas but expertise and talent when they hire. Still, I am sure that the big companies still appreciate a researcher education if that is needed for the job.
