There seems to be a shifting from disease management initiatives to population health. Is part of this the drive to community/localized focus in healthcare quality improvement? Will it be better in the long run for the state or the patients or both?
Population health promotional programmes, though difficult and time taking , will yield permanant and long lasting favourable results, if carried out with commitment.Disease reduction and mangement will achieve quick relief effect but not permanant change in poulation health. they are contingency measures. Coming to Medicaid and CHIP, they are of personal and individual nature and their effects on population health promotion will be minimum and less significant.
