I am studying the pyrolysis of food waste in Macau. I need the data of the percentage of fly ash against the food waste being incinerated in direct incineration? The food wastes are collected from restaurant, food stalls food centers.
I concur with the above answers. It is common to do a test burn based on a composite sample of your fuel sources and with that information you should be able to estimate the percentage of ash based on the volume of your fuel(s). It is also recommended to get a elemental and/or ultimate analysis of your fuels. The analysis will give you an idea of the corrosiveness, contamination, and emission properties of your fuels.
In addition to agreeing with what has been said above is the fact that most waste types, including food waste, are location-specific. So, the desired composition would vary from place to place. Hence, the need for an experimental determination for your waste composition.
What are the other options available for better use of food waste rather than simple incineration or pyrolysis?Do we need determination of composition of food waste for incineration?
