We are doing degradation experiments for CBZ and oxCBZ using ozone. From HPLC chromatograms it is clear that some intermediates are produced. What is the optimised method for degradation products study using LC MS
Thank you Mr. Paul. It is very helpful. But, this is HPLC related answer. I have already optimised the HPLC method for both carbamazepine and oxcarbazepine. I want to know the optimised method for LC-MS including Mass range, mobile phase conditions for LC-MS, column for LC-MS and detector, and also want to know about how to analyse the degradation products using LC-MS.
Firstly you can optimization of analysis of the degradation process by selecting the suitable column for your compound by check according companies manual, which including all conditions of HPLC operation. so after you test that condition to get one peak of your compound then you can go to test LC-MS. SECONDARY , send the same sample and conditions of HPLC to LC-MS then run it. To analysis the LC-MS results will be according the molecular weight the give you. Finally you can interpenetrate that result by calculating molecular weight of all intermediates compound and compared to standard compound which that show you the path way of degradation process. additionally should be read previous studies to investigate your suggestions.
