Im working on a cross-sectional correlation study and I need to measure the agression severity in outpatients. I do not know which scale would be better. Also anybody knows how to rate and interpret this sacales? Thanks
May I suggest SOAS-R (Staff Observation Aggression Scale-Revised) by Palmstierna and Nijman. Widely used in both research and clinical all over Europe, also available as software.
I would also suggest using the SOAS-R, as this is indeed a widely used instrument and very easy to administer. But you should be aware that this instrument only includes the observation of aggressive incidents, registered by the staff. Perhaps it would be useful to - depending upon your research questions - additionally add a self-report questionnaire, measuring other traits, such as anger, violence, etc.
