I am looking for a precious and industrially useful commodity which is made of CO2 and non-energetic co-reactants, having the potential to alleviate the high economic burden of CO2 capture from the non-biogenic point-sources.
1) Soil organic carbon (SOC) - in particular, humus-like stable substances - should be added to the bioconversion pathway. This is perhaps the largest potential pool for sequestrated CO2 today. Its economic value comes from the fact that SOC-deficient soil loses fertility. Approx. 80% of agricultural land on the Earth is estimated SOC-deficient to some degree.
2) Supercritical CO2 extractant is of growing interest, too. In the remediation of hydrocarbon- or POP-polluted sites, for instance.
