I am specifically looking for approaches to eliminate these predators in both open pond and closed systems without compromising algal growth performance or overall culture productivity.

pH shock is the simplest method, where it can be increased to 10-11 or decreased to 4-5 for a brief period (may be for 30-60 min) and bringing the pH back to neutral. Again it depends on if the algal species used can withstand the shock.
