Anaerobic digestion can be the feasible way to treat both type of waste with producing biogas (renewable energy) and nutrient rich soil conditioner at same time. This approach is consider as the eco-friendly rather than to follow other methods to deal these wastes.

I would agree with Asim ali's answer. Anaerobic digestion of domestic waste that generates biogas and nutrient-rich sludge compost is the eco-friendly option to treat domestic waste.

waste in the sense is it food waste? I hope so since you have mentioned about small scale restaurant. Again anaerobic digestion could provide high biogas yield since food waste is rich in organic content. Since it is also rich in nutrients, you can also look into options for nutrient recovery.
