If now for each person on the planet is the average of 0.28 hectares of fertile land, by 2030 the area will be reduced to 0.19 hectares. It is believed, that this effect is particularly evident in the last 50 years. Is it really so?
Factors that have contributed to land degradation include:
soil erosion, loss of soil fertility,soil structure change,salinisation,soil pollution
desertification,loss of vegetation cover,introduced herbivores such as rabbits and goats,overuse of irrigation water.

During last decade the nutrients deficiency has been considered as the main cause of poor productivity and crop failure.
