No, there is no such study. What comes closest are studies on interorganizational trust as being influenced by societal institutions. Have a look at the 2 Organization Studies articles of mine featured on my Researchgate webpage. Maybe you can transfer these insights to the group level....

James Coleman spoke in "Foundations of Social Theory" about the individual trust relations amongst diamond traders as social capital, that created a market advantage for this group; maybe this is a starting point for what you are looking for. If trust is the result of strong ties between individuals you are looking probably for network areas linked to e.g. "decision making" that show more dense relations (strong ties) then other parts of the group?

It may be useful to unpack interpersonal perceptions of trustworthiness, generalised trust in (in)group members, invested trust, etc. The general ideas here are derived from work on social identity in social psychology (in particular self-categorisation theory, e.g. Turner, 1982, 1991). From this you can derive the global idea that you can trust another in two basic ways: as an individual or as a group member. There are various ways of applying this notion to trust. Brewer and Kramer suggested that the concept of depersonalised trust is a useful one. Foddy, Platow and others refer to group-based trust. Tanis and Postmes make a distinction between perceived interpersonal trustworthiness and shared identity, showing that both are associated with reciprocity expectations, which is a strong correlate of invested (behavioural) trust.
