S. marcescens does not normally colonize human skin, the incidence of skin infections caused by S. marcescens is very low, and such infections are typically observed in immunocompromised patients.

Thank you Diorge, this was a post CABG wound that had to be reopened (13/06/21) due to fluid gathering around the heart, the sternum was closed but not the soft tissue (not clear if infection was already in the wound, patient had S. marcascens in blood) he was also immunocompromised as had previous liver transplant (1999) and had biweekly dialysis for the previous 10 months. Now has VAC dressing, infection finally gone and wound beginning to heal.

Thank you, Ahmed. I had seen this article and found it very interesting, unfortunately I am still waiting for the full report on the infection plus have had no answers to confirm whether or not this was an isolated incidence or more cases have occured
