I have taken root parameters through Rootscanner, in which one observation on Specific area (SA) and CA parameters were obtained. Whether these SA and CA are important for interpreting root results?. If it is so how it can be interpret?
Dear Rajanna, the specific surface area of roots is very important and measurement is necessary as it will indicate the potentiality of the cation exchange capacity of the plant roots. It is compatible to CEC. The total charges caused out by plant roots depends on root surface area. However, water vapor adsorption isotherm measurement is more accurate to estimate plant root specific surface.
