I believe that RG is a great place for promoting your research, interacting with diverse research community and knowing about others' research. However, recently I found a discussion on RG that editors or reviewers search for your RG score and google scholar citations to decide about your work to be published in a journal or not.

Is it true? How then research from new researchers are going to be published? Why its important to accept research from researcher who are active in community? I guess the editors do this because they know the research from active researchers bring more citations to their journals. But this still is not a good criteria. Research should be accepted based on contribution and relevance.
