For my research, I want to know the impact of International Accreditation in selected Long Term Care Facility in terms of Staff Satisfaction, Nursing professional practice, Leadership and Management and Patient satisfaction?

There are many advantages when an organization achieved international Accreditation.The organization will be recognized by health tourism, well established clinical governance is the concrete of the organization and become key factors for the sustainability of the best practices.
Good working environment will reduced staff resignation, Increased job satisfaction and they will felt proud to be in a accredited company.
Accreditation is actually preparing, guiding and teaching us to improve quality and level of care to our customers.
Without certain rules and standard, - the organization may loss loss the direction.

Accreditation is a broad subject. I reviewed some literature recently for my research and I can summarize the following points:
Staff satisfaction can be divided into staff development and satisfaction. Accreditation has proved to improve staff development by mandating staff education whether clinical education or education related to quality improvement and patient safety activities. For staff satisfaction, studies indicated that accreditation improved team work, improved communication and led to shared values between staff. This may enhance staff satisfaction partially, but no other clear evidence is available especially with the increased workload associated with accreditation and not providing enough incentives in return.
For patient satisfaction, most Western studies showed that accreditation is not associated with improved patient satisfaction, but some studies in the Middle East have shown some improvement in patient satisfaction as a result of accreditation.
Nurses are the most involved staff category in accreditation. They usually support it and participate in it actively, which is opposite to physicians' attitude.
Last but not least, Leadership has an important role when implementing accreditation. supportive and committed leadership can enhance the implementation of accreditation and hence positively influence its impact.

Implementing accreditation namely the JCI standards and identifying what factors influence this implementation is the topic of my PHD research. In summary, and , according to the literature, there are certain concerns:
1- No consistency in the accreditation outcomes, which mean that, on one hand, some healthcare organizations (HCOs) have implemented accreditation and obtained improvements in some of their functions such as reducing medical errors and increasing patients'' and employees' satisfactions; On the other hand, other HCOs which did not implement any accreditation interventions still obtained the same outcomes.
2- It is not always clear if the improvements in outcomes which HCOs witnessed is always an effect of the cause of implementing accreditation only; there could be other factors which contributed in these improvements
3- it has been evidenced that implementation results if confirmed to be linked to the accreditation intervention implementation only vary from one context to another. According to Greenfield, Braithwaite et al in different publications, implementing accreditation in low and middle income countries (LMICs) is different from that in high income countries (HICs) in terms of the factors influencing it and in terms of the outcomes it could achieve.
