AI-powered mental health chatbots improve emotional well-being by offering immediate, anonymous, and stigma-free support. They help users manage stress, anxiety, and loneliness through conversation, coping tools, and psychoeducation. These chatbots also encourage help-seeking by lowering barriers to access and acting as a first step toward professional care. While not a replacement for therapy, they increase mental health awareness and engagement, especially among underserved or hesitant populations.
I have never been involved with these chatbots but if they stimulate the users to talk about their problems, I feel that this must be good. People always feel better after talking a problem through with an understanding 'real' person and I think it is often to be able to release feelings and get it 'off their chests'. So, I feel that these must have positive results on the users mental health.
What are your feelings on this, Huỳnh Lê Quốc Công?
An interesting response you gave above. I had not read it when I was writing mine and thought it was quite a co-incidence that we both responded at the same time.
It will be interesting to see what other replies there are and of help to Huỳnh Lê Quốc Công
