I'd say a basic level, in which models are created and used by and for a single discipline - non-collaborative across multiple disciplines, modelling activities are specific to fragmented lifecycle stages....model data less robust.
I have not come across an authentic federated model for local construction projects in Malaysia. It is however impossible to conclude that this is the case for international projects or international firms operating in and out of Malaysia.
I'd suggest you conduct a pilot interview involving major players in the industry - you could discriminate your analysis along the lines of local and international projects/firms, if you like.
