The goal of artificial intelligence (AI) is to develop computer systems and algorithms that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as learning, problem-solving, decision-making, perception, and language understanding. The ultimate goal of AI is to create machines that can exhibit general intelligence, similar to humans, and can adapt to new situations and environments, learn from experience, reason abstractly, and interact naturally with humans. AI has many potential applications in various fields, such as healthcare, finance, education, transportation, and entertainment, and is expected to bring significant benefits to society.
In summary, the goal of AI is to provide software that can reason on input and explain on output. AI will provide human-like interactions with software and offer decision support for specific tasks, but it's not a replacement for humans – and won't be anytime soon.
In addition to the answers above, while several definitions of artificial intelligence (AI) have surfaced over the last few decades, John McCarthy offers the following definition in this 2004 paper (PDF, 106 KB) (link resides outside IBM), " It is the science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs. It is related to the similar task of using computers to understand human intelligence, but AI does not have to confine itself to methods that are biologically observable."
Wisam Mohammed Abed Alqaraghuli .... Wisam, As AI evolves I believe we’ll see a it used in every human endeavor. Like our earliest tools its goal is to help us make existing things more efficiently and guide us in learning how to think / explore unknown concepts. -- Its a very old question and concept. And the answer differs based on user goals. For example scientists who have been working on this a very long time. Its evident in the seemingly human response of carnival “game machines” and the 1822 (Charles) Babbage Analytical Engine. Since then we’ve explored making a machine that thinks and responds like a human. And created the 1950 Turing Test that compares our response to the behavior of an AI tool. Ideas for robots follow this. For corporations and businesses the goals are to automate tasks, reduce errors and save money. Other users are using it to explore and generate visual ideas, dance, literature, performing arts and music ideas. Like anything we make it will have potential for good and bad.
I have expressed my views in this respect which I submit herewith for your perusal .
Although their contribution & work gets appreciated they may come in the category of artificial intelligence . With this all we know that our brain is an energy powerful force with this our brain never gets tired it works in the line with the human entity & approach & as such human personality carry out their action with their mind offering their intelligence with their traits ,power of thinking with their inner urge for contribution to move to their realized goal .
