This is more a survey than a question: I am interested in your opinions of what are possible future hot topics in statistics and what new applications will be found.
Statistics is a powerful tool which will continue to develop as humans go further and further. A future hot topic in statistics, in my opinion, will continue to be the investigation of the climate variability. As regards the impartiality of statistics, the contribution of Prof. Ruiz Espejo is very explanatory.

Statistic is a conceptual area. The main idea in Statistics is the information. In fact, a statistic is an information. The concept in statistics uses the mathematical tools. The most important thing will be focus on the measurement and calculus, because the random variable is an abstract thing. To put a meaning can be accomplished by measurement theory and calculus. If you have super efficient tools from maths, you will have more information from observations (if the true approach is chosen). When watching some videos about chaos, the importance of randomness can be understood. It is not easy to say one thing about statistics. The more statistic means the more information if Maths is constructed correctly. I will be pleasant when I read your comments.
I came across your question a while back I hope you are still interested in the issue. We have proved the P vs. NP problem for Mathematical-Statistical E-Stock Markets Field in Mallick (2011, 2018) and Mallick, Hamburger & Mallick (2016, 2017) and shown that Systems Classification and Systems Integration (Mallick (2014)) of data works with the assumption of "Arrow of Time" in Genetic Econophysics Networks but not necessarily in the Inverse hence, Vector Diffeotopy does not satisfy Inverse Function Theorem npot even Inverse Power Law in Mathematical-Statistical Fields conditioned on Genetic String Matching Algorithms which characterise these network fields theories. I think this is a big open problem in Mathematical-Statistics which can be solved in the Electronic Networks by "jump quantum conductance" but that would violate Mathematical Communtative Algebra hence Statistics which essentially is a Field Theory in Riemann Algebra. I hope this is of some help to you.

From another perspective, ''We already have the statistics for the future: the growth percentages of pollution, overpopulation, desertification. The future is already in place.''
Yes, I agree with Prof. Aristidis that due to the high deteriorating state of global environmental conditions and climate issues, there would be the need to apply statistics in detecting the variability in climatic conditions.
