And Spain have a robust agriculture compared with Portugal. I came to from a family of farmers like you).
I understand you about the CAP Policies Impacts and the impossibility the Mediterranean agriculture could not be competitive compared with Brasil or California for example
And what about sustainability and rural development.???? I think in this area all the Mediterranean countries have a more beautiful and interesting natural and others resources. But I´m not expert on this area.

Hi Maria Jose, I'm from Valencia and I come from a family of farmers. The future and the present of Mediterranean agriculture see it very negative. Whenever there are fewer farmers; specifically the orange groves are very worn and with a very low profitability. This land could be considered rich 20 years ago, and today it is gone. The topic is very interesting but I think of difícilsolución.

Indeed, all the mentioned factors i.e. impact of climate change, water resources planning and the farmers skills contribute to a sustainable agriculture system. However, the two aspects climate and water resources are closely linked. Because, despite advances in agricultural technology, all agricultural endeavors are influenced by weather and climate. Thus the study to understand these events for forecasting and the effective use of weather and climate information is quite important for a healthier agricultural industry.
