Many philosophers think that the 3rd war will be for water due to the signs of scarcity , in addition to the dangerous of pollution . What you can do is to work to sustain agriculture under low water requirements and anti chemical fertilization.
Not only water is becoming scarce but many other problems affect agriculture these days. For example, we are running out of land and the one under cultivation is often eroded, or affected by high levels of salt. We are losing the seed of plant varieties that farmers before us had conserved and passed to their children for generations. Agriculture is becoming homogeneous very quickly and converting what is left of ecosystems into farmland, or pasture to raise livestock. The future of agriculture should be regenerative (manage lands under cultivation now in a way that these will remain productive in the future) and restorative (bring back agriculture in lands that have been desertified, due to unsustainable farming practices).
