Infrared is all around us: Most warm objects, including the human body, release radiation of this wavelength. The Infrared radiation is having frequencies 1014 ~1011 Hz and wavelength is between 0.75 to 1000 micron (1 micron = 10-6 metres). A typical television remote control uses infrared energy at a wavelength around 940 nanometers. Mostly we use near infrared range 0.8 to 2.5 micro meter wave in our house.

At 300 K (27C) you have a maximum around 10 micron, a typically infrared wavelength.
