Recently all over India medical practitioners are facing physical violence by angry mobs who claim to be relatives of patients....I want to know the scenario in other countries....
In the last few months, Russia has slightly increased the number of aggressive behaviour of patients against doctors and medical staff. In particular, over the past three months there have been 1 fatal for the doctor and about 5 that are associated with causing sustainable damage to health. This is due to the large number of holidays, bringing many out of balance. Unfortunately, many patients do not have the will to occupy themselves with something sensible and positive from the point of view of socially useful work on weekends and public holidays.

Additionally, Syria has been experiencing significant violence towards its medical professionals from both a patient and state level. May be an interesting avenue for your research given the macroscopic implications.
I am a pediatrician, in my opinion and observation the reasons of public unrest against doctors in whole north India are as follows:
1. Common people are starting to believe more in google than doctors, it is the newer form of "religious superstition" of this century, apart from healers in remote areas.
2. The cost disparity between govt and private health providing sectors vary considerably and since health insurance has not been universalized, often people have to go to the overburdened govt health centers knowing that they could get better treatment in private hospitals. this frustration is a main key factor.
3. Media: the role of media has been quite negative in the whole matter. they are trying to raise the TRP of their channels or newspapers by making doctors scapegoats. They are actually profitting by playing with common man's emotion in their grief.
4. the political parties in power in respective states of north India refrain from enforcing law and order thereby protecting doctors because of the fear of gaining negative publicity.
5. There are dishonest doctors as in any profession, and bcz of their unscrupulous behaviour the whole medical community is sufferring. The doctor patient trust is suffering, Intensive care promotion by private hospitals has come to a hault as they are afraid to take moribund patients ( several mishaps occurred after death of patients who had the chance of survival ranging from 1-20% during admission, still patient parties became violent in these instances). As a whole the society is suffering a great loss as doctors are afraid of doing their duties.
It's like working in a warzone. The impact is most severe upon the junior residents and doctors in age group 30-40 years.
I invite the social researchers of the world to study the matter at hand and the results may be beneficial to our society
