Generally, bacterial mRNAs do not contain poly A tails. How can you explain the presence of bacterial transcripts in plant transcriptome data generated following the oligo-dT method of mRNA purification?
Oligo dT enrichment is never absolute. I agree with David Farringdon's answer. Secondly, one must check how the RNA was prepared. Plants have both Chloroplast and mitochondrial genomes as well.... both of which are of bacterial origin. The transcripts in there do follow bacterial regulation paradigms.
