I am planning to study the effect of thermal shocks [hot (50 degree celsius) for 2 hours followed with cold ( 20 degree celsius) 2 hours] on the Nanoclay-epoxy composites. will repeat the same for 10 cycles. I am testing the specimens for tensile properties. What might be the results or how can I interpret the results.

It will put some stress at the interface of nanoclay and epoxy due to the CTE mismatch. Usually it will reduce the strength of the composite. Please let me know if there is unusual occurence since it will be interesting.

Usually the epoxy composite strength is based on curing quality. When thermal shocks are applied over the material there will be thermal residual stress in epoxy molecular chains and motivating the cross linking density.
Simplest form i could say that aft thermal shock the composite became more rigid and brittle. The degree of randomness will increase due to repeated heating leads high disorder in molecular arrangement.
