i have synthesized polymer, and have two kind product as beads and powder. Further steps, their had difference for chlorosulfonation product. Is there about surfaces? thank you.
Usually if you got beads during precipitation it means that you are precipitation polymer in high concentration. In this case you should dilute you polymer and try to precipitate it again. May be you will get powder
Oh, i understand. I got thick liquid for beads, and the other way. So, what should i do for the dry beads? can i dilute it?
You can simply grind the beads to get powder OR precipitate the polymer from a dilute solution with the use of excess non solvent to obtain the powder.
first of all , which monomer you used for polymerization?
and second , What do you want to do with polymer ?
The main difference between beads and powder, physical size of the powder, that make it more reactive than beads.
and for chlorosulfonation case :
powder needs moderate condition and beads react with higher condition like temprature or pH or mixing shear rate or ...
beads and powder in most case are simply turn together.
i need to mix with KBr for solid state NMR analysis.
