I am applying for a postdoctoral fellowship that requires the following for their application:
Letter of motivation (please include the names of at least two FENS faculty members who are closest to your proposed area of research; you may collaborate with these individuals or they may mentor you during the fellowship)
Short description of your scientific field of interest and a research plan (max. two A4- size pages).
Any suggestions on how to write the motivation letter in this case and how it would be different from the cover letter?
The main purpose of a cover (motivational) letter is to persuade an HR specialist that you are the most suitable candidate for a given position. A cover letter technically refers to the accompanying letter you use when applying for a job, while a motivation letter is for applying to university or a non-paid position.
