As you know, SVM and SVPWM are widely used to generate switching signals for inverters. I am preparing an article about control of DFIG. In this paper, i deeply investigated different control method for DFIG. For rotor side converter i used SVM-DPC. In the control structure i used the principle of SVPWM. But in some papers, PI controllers used in control structure in order to generate error signals. I want to know what are the differences between using PI regulators in the control over SVPWM without using PI regulators.

Thank you for your response, as you mentioned PI regulators lead to reducing current harmonics. but is this the only effect on controller? because current harmonic is the main problem in the case of unbalanced voltage. unbalanced voltage causes harmonics in current.
