You are correct that they are very similar. Sensor Fusion refers to the process of integrating multiple sensor measurements together with an algorithm such as an EKF.

A Sensor Hub, on the other hand, refers to a specific piece of MCU hardware which implements a specific sensor fusion algorithm for a specific set of sensors. For example, many modern smart phones use a Sensor Hub MCU to execute a sensor fusion algorithm, thus offloading the processing burden from the main CPU.
