I don't know about "the correct" method, but a fairly quick google for the keys terms of your question found the following:
X. T. He, R. L. Mulvaney, W. L. Banwart (1990) A Rapid Method for Total Nitrogen Analysis Using Microwave Digestion. Soil science society of America Journal, 54(6)1625-29.
There is also the search function in ResearchGate which might help you: https://www.researchgate.net/search.Search.html?query=Sulfuric+acid+digest+nitrogen+flow+analyser&type=publicationesearchGate
Digestion aside, the colorimetric methods for ammonia measurement are susceptible to interferences from constituents of the samples. Consequently, to get accurate results you will need to pass the ammonia into the colorimetric stream across a gas-permeable membrane. As an alternative, you might consider using an ammonia electrode that works on the same principle.
