In ordinal regression analysis, basic procedure is to divide the mass data (variables) into a different interval.   Like male =1  and female = 2, HbA1C:  < 7% , 7  -  10%  and  11 - 14%,  Duration of Diabetes:  < 5 years,   5  -  10  years, 11 -  15 years,  and 16 - 20 years and above 20 years.  etc.,
