The most prominent features of the water molecule are a) the self-dissociation into H+ (simplified) and OH– ions, and b) the ability to form strong hydrogen bonds in the liquid state. In this respect, perhaps the closest analogue is hydrogen fluoride (HF). It is also able to dissociate in into H+ and F– ions, and in the liquid state it forms even stronger hydrogen bonds than water. All this originates from the high electronegativity of fluorine and oxygen. The next closest analogue would the be ammonia, NH3. In the mid 20th century it was a popular research topic to do chemistry in liquid HF and liquid ammonia. Today most chemists try to avoid working with HF because of its very high toxicity.

(https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/self-ionization). All polar protic solvents (acetic acid, ethanol, H2SO4, etc) undergo "self-ionization."

Water and ammonia are both associated liquids with high thermal conductivity, but their degrees of molecular association are characterized differently by strong and weak hydrogen bonds, respectively.
